May 3, 2018
Local artist Roberta Shea will conduct a Monotype Demonstration for our gallery in New Milford on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 7 - 9 p.m. Open to artists and the public, the artist will explore the magic of monotype, a one-of-a kind printing process. Her program is designed to demystify the printmaking process of monotype, to free painters from artistic blocks, and to encourage exploration of the printing process.
Roberta Shea is a former art teacher and painter/printmaker who exhibits locally and in New Hampshire. She received her degree in art education from Southern Connecticut State University and taught art at Masuk High School in Monroe. She also attended the Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven and studied printmaking with Anna Audette, Washington Arts Association with Anthony Kirk, Woodstock College of Art, and at Yale University. She is currently a docent at the New Britain Museum of American Art and an exhibiting member of Gallery 25 in New Milford.
Her residencies include Cill Rialaig Arts Center in County Kerry, Ireland and artist-in-residence at the Durham Public Library in New Hampshire.
