Gallery 25 and Creative Arts Studio welcomes back Diane Dubreuil as a Featured Artist with her show "Here and There". Her watercolor paintings were created 'en plein air' in beautiful places and bring a depth of beauty from these places across all seasons and worldwide locations. The Diane Dubreuil Featured Artist show is March 4-27, 2022. The Closing Reception is March 26, 2022, 2-4pm.
As a former Director of Gallery25, Dubreuil is now focused on painting "en plein air" and teaching. Reflecting on why she paints, "For me, nothing refreshes my spirit as quickly as painting for a few hours outside." Says Dubreuil, "Quiet observation of nearly any scene, helps me learn about the place and the people who frequent it. Painting 'en plein air’' adds to that experience. I meet the most interesting people who tell me about their families, their homes and their towns. It's a great opportunity for sharing, and I love that my art is a catalyst for that."
Dubreuil was raised in Maine and her interest in "plein air" painting began as a youth when her family camped for recreation and she painted the woods and plant life around her. A graduate from the University of Maine at Orono, she moved to Pittsburgh, PA and then Nashua, NH and then In 1987, they moved to New Milford, CT where they raised their family. DuBrueil was employed for nearly 25 years as a digital artist and Art Director for children's author, Mercer Mayer. In 2005, she was the resident artist for Musée de la Grande Vigne in Dinan, Brittany, France. Recently she was chosen to be Baxter State Park’s Visiting Artist, reinspiring her love and enthusiasm for time spent in the out-of-doors. She is a Signature Member of the New England Watercolor Society and International Plein Air Painters, teaches watercolor classes, and gives painting demonstrations and was a former Director and member of Gallery 25.
