Tarol Samuelson

The Featured Artist this month is Tarol Samuelson. Tarol is a self-taught artist working in multiple media. She marks her beginnings as an artist by making a life-sized papier mache camel in elementary school. From there her family put up with the clutter of her never-ending creations in every possible medium.

She describes herself as an accomplished high-spirited painter, experimenting in mixed media and graphic design. Having perfected her craft with over 35 years dedicated to developing her unique style and technique she has won me widespread notice and notoriety. In her own words, "my works boldly evoke a sense of warmth, strength, spirituality, and touch of humor which appeal to a wide audience."

Her award-winning paintings have been the subject of group and solo exhibitions in area galleries since 1996—Boehringer Ingelheim's, the Art of Caring, Mark Twain Library and Ridgefield Guild of Art to name a few.

Tarol has done set design, solo and group exhibitions and is currently the Creative Director for a trade magazine in Newtown. She has been a New Milford resident for the past 15 years where she has become an avid gardener.
