Gallery 25 & Creative Arts Studio will host a book reading by Newtown author CJ Golden at 2PM on August 24. Ms. Golden will read from her latest book, Reflections From Beyond: Sharing a Message of Hope, Peace and Kindness (Eronel Publishing, Feb 2014; $8.95), and lead a discussion on the topic.

This inspiring book is about the life and near-death experience of Tracy LaCroix, a Virginia man who had no perceptible heartbeat for 1- hours before regaining consciousness, spiritually renewed and fortified with a life-affirming message. Mr. LaCroix's amazing journey imparts the peace and beauty that lie just beyond this physical plane - regardless of one's religion or personal spiritual beliefs.

Ms. Golden is an inspirational speaker and writer who has authored other works, such as Tao of the Defiant Woman and Tao-Girls Rule!. She is donating $1.00/book from the sale of Reflections from Beyond to the Healing Hearts Center for Grieving Children & Families (a program of Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western Connecticut). This organization was specifically chosen by Golden and LaCroix because of its effective role in assisting the grieving families and the community of Newtown and surrounding areas.

At her book reading, Ms. Golden will discuss some of the most compelling aspects of Mr. LaCroix's experiences. Admission for the event is free, and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Gallery 25 & Creative Arts Studio, which is affiliated with the New Milford Commission on the Arts, is located at 25 Church Street in New Milford. 860-355-6009.
